My works are abstract and minimalist. Silence, fragility and contrasts play a central role. My ceramic sculptures, drawings and collages embody a sober but layered aesthetic, in which the balance between form and emptiness is the starting point from which I explore the different types of silence, and the tension between structure and openness.
Lines return as an essential element throughout my work. They bring rhythm, direction and tension to the compositions and act as a visual translation of movement and stillness. In my drawings and collages, the lines are often subtle and minimalist, sometimes interrupted or incomplete, suggesting something unspoken. In my ceramic works, lines manifest themselves in textures and fracture lines, expressing both fragility and strength. They also emphasize conversations and again the tension between different kinds of silence
The contrast between black and white is another important part of the creative vocabulary in my works. White symbolizes silence, space and lightness, while black reveals depth, shadow and rupture. This duality is not only visual, but also reflects the tensions between presence and absence, between control and spontaneity. My work invites the viewer to discover a harmonious balance in these opposites.
In the series Let's Talk About Silence I have explored the power of silence and the subtleties of various types of silence. With minimal interventions and layered textures, I have created a space for introspection in which every detail takes on meaning. In my ceramic sculptures, rough structures and imperfections are visible as traces of the making process. This tension between clean lines and organic forms, between order and coincidence, reinforces the layeredness of my art.
Through this abstract and minimalist approach, I want to transcend the purely visual. The work breathes silence and invites stillness, to see the beauty in simplicity, the power in contrast and the poetry of line.
